The reigning Miss Ghana, Margarete Dery was over the weekend poured out the pain she has had to suffer as Miss Ghana, warning ladies aspiring for her crown to stay off the pageant for their own good, as MyNewsGH.com reported in the past.
There have always been several scandals surrounding the Miss Ghana pageant though organizers try hard to defend what many say is indefensible.
Some months ago, some old winners came out with shocking revelations about the ordeal they go through including being cheated and forced to do certain things they never wished to.
However, these allegations were denied by organizers of the annual pageant.
Well, the reigning Queen, Miss Ghana Mag Dery has RESIGNED, essentially throwing away the crown and crushing it into the sand along with its lost glory.
The current reigning Queen who seems to be fed up with the treatment meted out to her earlier in several posts on her Twitter page poured out her heart lending credence to what the others said about the contest in time past.
She posted on Twitter; “Being a miss Ghana queen has honestly been one of the worse experiences of my life, yeah,I know it looks good on the outside, but it’s just one big sham on the inside. All that glitters is not gold. Ladies, you don’t need a crown on your head to succeed”.
She then went on to post; “Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty, truth, and compassion against injustice, lying, and greed. No more will I cover up for anyone that doesn’t deserve it. The whole world will know the truth soon”.
These tweets by the queen come to confirm claims by some former queens who were made to do things against their wish and were treated as rags.
